It is our mission and our ambition to use nature’s gifts in order to combine old traditions and a unique technology of winemaking.

Low intervention, organic wine*

Our scientific background helps us understand the fact that our planet has no future without a respect for nature.

We would like to offer our humble contribution to the preservation of our diverse natural flora and fauna, thereby establishing a harmonious coexistence of humankind and nature that will allow many future generations to be able to enjoy nature’s beauty.

It is our wish to give everybody the chance to taste the combination of the sweet side of life and the beauty of our world of winemaking.

We do not use any pesticides, herbicides or plant protection products! Because our philosophy is: A lot of manual work makes healthy grapes and thus the best wine.

*Our winery is currently in the process of qualifying for the local organic certification. Under its requirements, our wine has been adhering to the Austrian standards for organic products since 2018.

Terroir

A main characteristic of the wine region in Burgenland are the multiple beneficial conditions for wine grapes.

The variety of soil composition in the region includes types of loess sediment, salt soil, sand soil and chalk soil, all of which have proven useful in enriching the vines.

The Pannonian continental climate, the varying air currents originating in the alps and the largely noted moon illusion in the area all compliment the harmonic balance of the winemaking region and are reflected in the quality of the wine.

Coexistance in the vineyard

As we always strive to make our vineyards compatible with nature, all types of local fauna are regularly encountered on our property. We often see fawns, bunnies, birds and bird nests, lizards, bees, snails, ladybugs, and other animals.

Queen in Weiss

We value the symbiosis between nature and humankind and therefore, our winery establishes a specific focus on achieving a harmonic interaction between nature, our vineyards and winemaking. We explicitly do not endorse any process or technique that could be harmful to the soil and to the environment.

In order to preserve old family traditions, we take the moon calendar into account while planning our harvest as well as other proceedings in our winery.

We specifically refrain from using any artificial – and according to us – unnecessary additives in order to provide you with the best possible pure wine tasting experience.

Work in our vineyards takes place all year round. The different steps of winemaking are done by hand, the grapes are also harvested by hand.
